What is ADAS calibration, and why is calibration important?
ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) are passive and active safety systems designed to remove the human error component when operating vehicles of many types. ADAS systems use advanced technologies to assist the driver during driving, and thereby improve drivers’ performance. ADAS uses a combination of sensor technologies to perceive the world around the vehicle, and then either provide information to the driver or take action when necessary. These alerts can come in various forms, but overall, ADAS aids and assists in avoiding collisions, through the following applications:
- Lane Departure Warning
- Collision Warning
- Blind Spot Monitoring
- Park Assist
- Automatic Cruise Control
- Pedestrian Protection
- Headlights Control
ADAS Calibration for Your Windshield
If your vehicle has a forward-facing camera, then you must ensure that it’s in proper working order. If your safety sensors are not aligned properly the sensors will not function as intended. This is why it’s imperative to calibrate a windshield.
Do NOT trust any glass company that tells you, you do not need to recalibrate your sensors or camera system because they don’t unplug your sensors!!! This is not accurate!
At Clear Vision Auto Glass, we know how crucial it is to calibrate a windshield the right way. Our recalibrations are done to the OEM specifications of your vehicle to ensure that your ADAS continues to keep you safe and away from road accidents.
